Goals-10.1 Edition

After reflecting on my goals and their rate of achievement, I’ve noticed that I tend to not stick to monthly goals. There’s something about the ability to procrastinate (e.g. oh I’ll do it next week) that results in them never getting done. To fix this problem, I’ve decided that I am going to set weekly goals for myself, breaking down my big goals into sizable chunks so that I can get what I need to get done, done!

October 2011-Week 1 Goals:

  • Read half of 365 Ways to be Cheap (that’s been on my to-do list since August)
  • “Revamp” my résumé
  • Update my “LinkedIn” account
  • Read 2 chapters of Shortchanged
  • Complete week 1 of Couch to 5k - Adapted – Because the 5K I would like to participate in is November 5th, I found a shorter training program through the Mayo Clinic that is 7 weeks vs. 9 weeks. I will start with week 2!

That really doesn’t feel like enough, just looking at it; however, I need to remind myself that midterms are the next few weeks, so many of my goals (like getting As-I’m 4 for 5 right now!) aren’t going to be weekly goals like this and are just things like getting my homework done and keeping the apartment tidy. I’ll do a Thursday check-in and a Sunday recap to keep myself on track as well. There must be something in the air because I feel so full of hope and change right now. Every time I walk outside, I want to take a deep breath and go be productive…there’s just something about the coolness of fall that’s refreshing.

This is pretty much fall in Louisiana
